KRAMA Festival Week 2025 | 27 - 31 Μαΐου
Το KRAMA Festival επιστρέφει για έκτη χρονιά, αυτή τη φορά με μια σειρά δράσεων σε διαφορετικές τοποθεσίες της πόλης, που θα διαρκέσουν μια ολόκληρη εβδομάδα. Με αποκορύφωμα την τελευταία ημέρα του φεστιβάλ, στις 31 Μαΐου στο ΠΛΥΦΑ, η φετινή έκδοση φιλοδοξεί να αναδείξει πειραματικές και πρωτοποριακές συναρτήσεις ανάμεσα στον ήχο, την εικόνα, την κίνηση και την κοινότητα.
Ξεκινάμε από αυτά που ξέρουμε: σε έναν κόσμο χαρακτηρισμένο από διχαστικές αφηγήσεις, το KRAMA στοχεύει στη δημιουργία μιας συμπεριληπτικής πλατφόρμας, που αναγνωρίζει κοινούς προβληματισμούς και πειραματίζεται με τα όρια μέσα από τη δημιουργική σύμπραξη στη μουσική και τις τέχνες. Το φετινό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει συναυλίες, DJ sets, performances, οπτικές εγκαταστάσεις και DIY εργαστήρια, που θα παρουσιαστούν στο διάστημα μιας εβδομάδας, σε τέσσερις διαφορετικές τοποθεσίες, με περισσότερους από 25 καλλιτέχνες.
Το KRAMA Festival 2025 προσκαλεί καλλιτέχνες που εξερευνούν τα όρια της δυτικής (και όχι μόνο) μουσικής, ενσωματώνοντας διαφορετικά όργανα, τεχνικές ενορχήστρωσης και σύνθεσης. Από τον ελεύθερο αυτοσχεδιασμό και την πειραματική ηλεκτρονική μουσική μέχρι το avant-garde, το experimental hip hop και τα ambient soundscapes, το lineup του φεστιβάλ συνθέτει νόημα μέσα από την αμφισβήτηση των κανονιστικών πλαισίων και αγκαλιάζει αυτή την πρόκληση ως πεδίο διαλόγου, μεταμόρφωσης και συνδημιουργίας.
Για πρώτη φορά φέτος, οι δράσεις του φεστιβάλ θα απλωθούν σε μία ολόκληρη εβδομάδα, ξεκινώντας την Τρίτη 27 Μαϊου με ένα live online radio show στο Fade Radio. Τρία acts της εγχώριας σκηνής, η CALLIOPE ή αλλιώς Καλλιόπη Γερακιανάκη, οι Club Zothique ή αλλιώς Απόστολος Παπαποστόλου και Βασίλης Ζλάτανος, και ο Socrates Antypas θα παρουσιάσουν από ένα 45λεπτο σετ το καθένα, γεμάτο με περίεργα samples, κομμάτια συμφωνικής μουσικής, πειραματικά περάσματα, ηλεκτρονικές υφές και φωνητικά από έναν άλλο κόσμο. Το event θα μεταδοθεί live μέσω των συχνοτήτων του Fade Radio αλλά και μέσω YouTube.
Την Τετάρτη 28 Μαΐου, στον ιδιαίτερο χώρο του Oν-Off Studio (Φειδιππίδου 22, Αθήνα), το KRAMA προσκαλεί τον Έλληνα συνθέτη Κωστή Δρυγιανάκη για ένα μοναδικό showcase του έργου του Optiki Mousiki - Tomos 2 (1994). Εκεί θα παρουσιαστεί το έργο του Κωστή και η δημιουργική του διαδικασία, ενώ θα ριχτεί φως στο μουσικό, κοινωνικό και θεολογικό περιβάλλον της εποχής. Θα πραγματοποιηθούν παρουσιάσεις και συζήτηση με συντονίστρια τη συνθέτρια και ερευνήτρια Νίκη Κρασάκη στις οποίες θα συμμετάσχουν ο Κωστής Δρυγιανάκης, ο μουσικός δημοσιογράφος Χάρης Συμβουλίδης και ο θεολόγος Παντελής Καλαϊτζίδης, αναλύοντας το πώς το συγκεκριμένο έργο αλλά και η συνολική avant-garde μουσική σκηνή στην Ελλάδα μεταξύ των μέσων του ‘80 και ‘90 επηρεάστηκε από τις world musics, τις τοπικές παραδόσεις & κοινότητες αλλά και την πνευματικότητα. Μετά τη συζήτηση θα ακολουθήσει Q&A, και στο τέλος ένα DJ set από τον μουσικό αρχειοθέτη Paul Paulun.
Την Παρασκευή 30 Μαϊου, μια ημέρα πριν την κορύφωση της εβδομάδας με το main event του Σαββάτου, η ομάδα του KRAMA έχει ετοιμάσει μια βραδιά με DJ sets και performances στο PLEX (Κεραμεικού 28, Αθήνα). Σε αυτή τη μικρή γιορτή γεμάτη μουσική και πειραματισμούς, η Δήμητρα Κουστερίδου και ο Γιώργος Μωραΐτης αρχικά θα παραδώσουν το εργαστήριο Exploring Sonic Practices, όπου οι συμμετέχοντες θα ασχοληθούν με ηχογραφήσεις πεδίου χρησιμοποιώντας διάφορα μικρόφωνα και τεχνικές. Μέσα από περιπάτους ακρόασης, παιγνιώδεις ηχογραφήσεις και πρακτικά πειράματα, θα συλλέξουν ηχητικό υλικό από το περιβάλλον, θα εξετάσουν πώς γίνεται αντιληπτός & ερμηνεύεται ο ήχος και θα κατασκευάσουν μια καθηλωτική ηχητική εγκατάσταση, η οποία θα ακολουθηθεί από μια συλλογική live performance. Στη συνέχεια, θα απολαύσουμε τους εκλεκτικούς ήχους των Miss Trouli, Pink.Wav b2b Poor J'Darr και Trae Joly, με τρία μοναδικά DJ sets χτισμένα για το dancefloor, με επιρροές από UK bass, breaks, contemporary club music κ.α.
Το όραμα του KRAMA για το σύγχρονο και το πειραματικό ως μια πρακτική που εδράζεται στη συνδημιουργία, τη συμπερίληψη και τη συνύπαρξη επιμελημένων αφηγήσεων με αυθόρμητο πειραματισμό, αποτυπώνεται ξεκάθαρα στην ετερόκλητη σύνθεση καλλιτεχνών που θα παρουσιάσουν τη δουλειά τους στα πλαίσια του main event του φεστιβάλ, το Σάββατο 31 Μαΐου στο ΠΛΥΦΑ (Κορυτσάς 39, Αθήνα). Η φετινή μουσική επιμέλεια πραγματοποιήθηκε σε συνεργασία με την πολυθεματική καλλιτέχνιδα Ελένη Πούλου και συγκεντρώνει ένα ποικιλόμορφο lineup. Ξεκινώντας με τους Able Noise, το ντουέτο των Alex & George από το Άμστερνταμ με τύμπανα και βαρύτονη κιθάρα δημιουργεί τελετουργίες ήχου — ωμές, μινιμαλιστικές και βαθιά συντονισμένες, ισορροπώντας μεταξύ ευαλωτότητας και ακρίβειας. Ο Athens Computer Underground (Παντελής Θεοδωρίδης) θα παρουσιάσει ένα ιδιόρρυθμο DJ set με ηχητικούς κόσμους που εμπλουτίζονται με κατακερματισμένους ρυθμούς, τόλμη και αναλογικά glitches, ενώ οι Βάκτρο (Στέφανος Γκιουλτζούογλου & Νικηφόρος Nugent) έναν μοναδικό ηχητικό κόσμο, χρησιμοποιώντας αναφορές από το ρεμπέτικο, το λαϊκό και τεχνικές άλλων παραδόσεων μαζί με μπουζούκι και συνθεσάιζερ.
Από τα υψίπεδα του Κουρδιστάν μέχρι την παγκόσμια πειραματική σκηνή, οι HJirok (Andi Toma & Hani Mojtahedi) προσφέρουν μια ισχυρή σύντηξη παραδοσιακής φωνητικής κληρονομιάς των Sufi με βαριά, σχεδόν κινηματογραφική παραγωγή. Η Mariam Rezaei μας εκπλήσσει με υπερκινητικές τεχνικές πικάπ, ξεσπάσματα θορύβου και κοφτερές λεκτικές παρεμβάσεις, καταρρίπτοντας τα σύνορα μεταξύ hip hop, θεάτρου και αφηρημένου ήχου, ενώ η συνεργασία των ΜΕΤΑΜΑΝ (Θωμάς Γουναρόπουλος), Χριστίνας Καρπούζου και DOS Space συνδυάζει ζωντανά ηλεκτρονικά, χορό και απροσδόκητη κίνηση σε μια πολυεπίπεδη αυτοσχεδιαστική performance που πάλλεται από συναίσθημα και σκοτεινή λάμψη.
Συνεχίζοντας, οι Organza Ray (Eleni Poulou & Hilary Jeffery) από το Βερολίνο παίζουν με την ένταση ανάμεσα σε ατμοσφαιρικές υφές και την σωματικότητα - εναλλάσσοντας απαγγελία, ηχογραφήσεις πεδίου και αργά εξελισσόμενα ηλεκτρονικά, το set τους αποπνέει ατμόσφαιρα και αμοιβαιότητα. Ακολουθεί το duo των PILAITĖ (Paulius Janušonis & Vytautas Franukevičius), ένα hip hop πρότζεκτ από τη Λιθουανία, το οποίο διερευνά θέματα όπως η παροδικότητα, η (α)ηθική, η ψυχική υγεία και η δυτικοποιημένη ανατολικο-ευρωπαϊκή κουλτούρα του δρόμου, προσφέροντας μια σκοτεινή, εκρηκτική σύντηξη post-club, ραπ έντασης και βιομηχανικής μελαγχολίας.
Η Sissi Rada (Σίσσυ Μακροπούλου) θα γεφυρώσει την κλασική άρπα και το ψιθυριστό ποπ με glitchy beats και αιθέριους ήχους, προσφέροντας μουσική που είναι ταυτόχρονα κομψή και ανήσυχη, με καινοτόμα ηχοτοπία και μια ατρόμητη προσέγγιση στη μουσική εξερεύνηση ενώ το τρίο Σκορδάς/Νοραότο/Χυτήρης θα απελευθερώσει μια καταιγίδα αυτοσχεδιασμού: σαξόφωνο, πνευστά, τύμπανα, και κοντραμπάσο συνομιλούν στα όρια, αναζητώντας το ταπεινό και το απροσδόκητο.
Τέλος, από τα πιο ιδιαίτερα acts της βραδιάς είναι αναμφίβολα η Optolator Oscillator Orchestra. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, το ετήσιο Optolator Oscillator workshop μας θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 24/5 στο PLEX (Keramikou 28, Athina) από τον Γεννάδιο (Degear0001) και τον Δήμο (Complex Resistance). Η μέρα αυτή θα περιλαμβάνει θεωρία και κατασκευή DIY ταλαντωτών από τους συμμετέχοντες, μικρά synthesizers δηλαδή, με τα οποία θα φτιάξουν και θα παρουσιάσουν μουσική στα πλαίσια του main event του φεστιβάλ μας στο ΠΛΥΦΑ.
Την επιμέλεια των visuals καθ’όλη τη διάρκεια του φεστιβάλ έχει αναλάβει η διαδραστική καλλιτέχνιδα Αλεξάνδρα Νιάκα, η πρακτική της οποίας συνδυάζει την αρχιτεκτονική, την τεχνολογία και την ανθρώπινη αλληλεπίδραση, δημιουργώντας εγκαταστάσεις και καθηλωτικές εμπειρίες και θέτοντας ερωτήματα για τη σχέση μεταξύ ανθρώπου και τεχνολογίας. Μαζί της η διαδραστική εικαστικός Βαλεντίνα Φαραντούρη.

KRAMA Festival Week 2025 | May 27 - 31
KRAMA Festival returns for its sixth year, this time with a week-long series of events across different locations in the city. Culminating on May 31st at PLYFA, this year’s edition aims to highlight the experimental and groundbreaking intersections between sound, image, movement, and community.
Start from what you know: in a world shaped by divisive narratives, KRAMA seeks to create an inclusive platform with shared values - one that experiments and challenges the boundaries of coexistence and collaboration through music and visual arts. This year’s program features live music, DJ sets, site-specific performances, visual installations, and DIY workshops presented throughout the week at four different venues, with 25+ participating artists.
We invite artists who explore and challenge the limits of Western music, incorporating diverse instrumentation, bold arrangements, and unusual structures. Through this process, we define our vision of the contemporary and the experimental - a practice rooted in co-creation, inclusivity, and the interplay of mediated curation with spontaneous experimentation.
This year’s events will span a full week, starting Tuesday, May 27 with a live online radio show on Fade Radio. Three acts from the local scene—CALLIOPE (Kalliopi Gerakianaki), Club Zothique (Apostolos Papapostolou & Vasilis Zlatanos), and Socrates Antypas—will each present a 45-minute set filled with curious samples, symphonic elements, experimental interludes, electronic textures, and otherworldly vocals. The event will stream live via Fade Radio and YouTube.
On Wednesday, May 28, at the unique Ov-Off Studio (Feidippidou 22, Athens), KRAMA invites Greek composer Costis Drygianakis for a special showcase of his work Optiki Mousiki – Volume 2 (1994). The presentation will delve into his creative process and explore the musical, social, and theological context of that era. A panel discussion—moderated by composer and researcher Niki Krasaki—will feature Drygianakis, music journalist Haris Simvoulidis, and theologian Pantelis Kalaitzidis, discussing how avant-garde music in Greece between the mid-’80s and ’90s was influenced by world music, local traditions & communities, and spirituality. The event will end with a Q&A and a DJ set by music archivist Paul Paulun.
On Friday, May 30, the night before the main event, KRAMA presents a night of DJ sets and performances at PLEX (Keramikou 28, Athens). The evening begins with the Exploring Sonic Practices workshop led by Dimitra Kousteridou and Giorgos Moraitis, where participants will experiment with field recordings using various microphones and techniques. Through soundwalks, playful recordings, and hands-on experiments, they will collect sonic material from the surrounding environment, explore how sound is perceived and interpreted, and build an immersive sound installation followed by a collective live performance. Later on, DJs Miss Trouli, Pink.wav b2b Poor J’Darr, and Trae Joly will deliver unique DJ sets infused with UK bass, breaks, contemporary club music, and more.
KRAMA Festival’s main event on Saturday, May 31 at PLYFA (Korytsas 39, Athens) showcases the festival’s vision of the contemporary and the experimental as rooted in co-creation, inclusion, and the coexistence of curated storytelling with spontaneous experimentation. Curated in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Eleni Poulou, the lineup brings together a diverse range of acts.
Starting with Able Noise, the duo of Alex & George from Amsterdam with drums and baritone guitar create sound rituals—raw, minimalist, and deeply resonant, balancing between vulnerability and precision. Athens Computer Underground (Pantelis Theodoridis) will present an idiosyncratic DJ set with sonic worlds enriched with fragmented rhythms, daring textures, and analog glitches, while Vaktro (Stefanos Gioultzouoglou & Nikiforos Nugent) will craft a unique sonic world using references from rebetiko, folk music, and techniques from other traditions, along with bouzouki and synthesizer.
From the highlands of Kurdistan to the global experimental scene, HJirok (Andi Toma & Hani Mojtahedi) offer a powerful fusion of the traditional Sufi vocal heritage with heavy, almost cinematic production. Mariam Rezaei surprises us with hyperkinetic turntablism techniques, noise outbursts, and sharp verbal interventions, breaking down boundaries between hip hop, theatre, and abstract sound, while the collaboration of METAMAN (Thomas Gounaropoulos), Christina Karpouzou, and DOS Space combines live electronics, dance, and unexpected movement in a multilayered improvisational performance pulsing with emotion and dark brilliance.
Continuing, Organza Ray (Eleni Poulou & Hilary Jeffery) from Berlin play with the tension between atmospheric textures and physicality—alternating between spoken word, field recordings, and slowly evolving electronics, their set radiates atmosphere and mutuality. Following them is the duo PILAITĖ (Paulius Janušonis & Vytautas Franukevičius), a hip hop project from Lithuania that explores themes such as transience, (im)morality, mental health, and Westernized Eastern European street culture, offering a dark, explosive fusion of post-club, intense rap, and industrial melancholy.
Sissi Rada (Sissy Makropoulou) will bridge classical harp and whispery pop with glitchy beats and ethereal sounds, offering music that is both elegant and restless, with innovative soundscapes and a fearless approach to musical exploration, while the trio Skordas/Noraoto/Chytiris will unleash a storm of improvisation: saxophone, winds, drums, and double bass converse at the edge, searching for the humble and the unexpected.
Finally, one of the most special acts of the night is undoubtedly the Optolator Oscillator Orchestra. Specifically, the annual Optolator Oscillator workshop will take place on 24/5 at PLEX (Keramikou 28, Athens) by Gennadios (Degear0001) and Dimos (Complex Resistance). This day will include theory and DIY oscillator construction by the participants—i.e., small synthesizers—with which they will create and present music as part of the main event of our festival at PLYFA.
The festival’s live visuals are curated by interactive artist Alexandra Niaka, whose practice blends architecture, technology, and interspecies’ interaction into immersive installations, questioning the relationship between humans and machines. Joining her is multidisciplinary visual artist Valentina Farantouri.
